We were approached by the owner of an old mansion built during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, who wanted us to renovate and design the building to bring it back to life.
The strategy of the design lies in how to repair the old without destroying the structure of the ancient buildings, respecting the local history of the renovation, we start from the civilization of Houma in Shanxi Province, the external facade adopts the local unique brick-concrete structural construction, while the interior is combined with the modern, to reorganize the logic of the site with the appropriate scale of the residence.
